New Delhi: Uorfi Javed recently flew from Mumbai to Goa. Uorfi was seen by the paparazzi sporting a whole new look on Thursday night after she had dyed her hair pink before leaving for Goa. Her vacation was a little unsettling since some ‘drunk’ men ridiculed, harassed, and teased her when she was in economy class. She posted a clip of the group on her Instagram story and said she is not a ‘public property’.
Uorfi Javed is known for interacting with the press and posing for photographs. She always demands attention because of her eccentric sense of style. Uorfi got the attention of the paparazzi before she left for Goa by dying her hair pink and sporting a new, striking appearance.
Last night, Uorfi posted a video of the people involved and an explanation of the unpleasant experience on her Instagram story. During the trip, she was the target of eve-teasing and other forms of harassment from the guys, prompting her to speak out against it.
She wrote, "While travelling from Mumbai to Goa in one of the flights yesterday I had to go through harassment, the men in this video were saying nasty things, Eve teasing and calling names. When I confronted them one of them said that their friends were drunk. Being drunk is no excuse to misbehave with women. Public figure YES, Public property NO."
Even though Uorfi gets a lot of criticism for the way she dresses, many people look up to her for having the courage to wear them.
In March, Kareena Kapoor talked to Times Now and praised her for being so confident. The actor said, "Fashion is all about expression and freedom of speech. I think that the confidence with which she pulls it off, I think she looks really cool and amazing. The fact that she does exactly as she wants, that's what fashion is all about - when you are comfortable in your own skin and do exactly as you, please. I just love the confidence. I am a confident girl so I am all for confidence. I just love her confidence and the way she walks. Hats off."
Uorfi Javed was last seen as a troublemaker on Splitsvilla X4.
