New Delhi: Thalapathy Vijay has a massive fan following in the Southern film industries. The Tamil superstar, recently grabbed headlines for a speech he made at a ceremony organised by All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. At the event, the megastar honoured the recently graduated students from Class 10 and Class 12. At the event, Vijay advised attendees to not vote for money and read about national leaders like Dr. BR Ambedkar, Periyar and Kamaraj.

In a video clip that has been doing the rounds on social media, we see Vijay give a speech in Tamil. As per a Pinkvilla report, Vijay is paraphrased as saying in English, "ou are tomorrow’s voters. You will be electing the future leaders. We are poking our own eyes with our hands, by getting money for votes. Consider a politician giving Rs 1000 to a voter in a constituency that has 1.5 lakh voters. How much he must have given as a bribe, nearly 15 crores? If a person gives a bribe of Rs 15 crore think how much he must have earned before that! I want all this to be a part of your educational system. There will be a change if you go and tell your parents that they should not get money to vote."

This felicitation ceremony for class 10 and 12 students was organised by his fan club, All Indian Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. At the event, the megastar was seen in a yellow shirt and jean. He sat with the students and interacted with his fans. Several videos and pictures from the event have gone viral online.

Vijay's politicial party

Many Vijay's fans do not know that his father and veteran director SA Chandrasekhar started a political party called the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam with him as General Secretary and his mother  Shoba Chandrasekhar as the treasurer. The party later became a welfare organization and also contested the local body election in Tamil Nadu and won. The 'RAW' actor also personally met the party members and congratulated them for winning 115 seats.

Vijay has been slowly but steadily entering into social life with his fans association serving food to people on May 28, World Hunger Day.

Vijay preferring to honour the toppers of each of the 234 assembly constituencies is a clear indicator of the super star setting his eyes on a long political innings in Tamil Nadu.

Sources in the Vijay Makkal Iyyakam told IANS that the super star has been in touch with several retired bureaucrats, journalists and movie stars to assess their opinion before entering politics.
