Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot on Wednesday at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The wedding ceremonies, which lasted for hours, saw the bride and groom changing into two different outfits.
Chaitanya's father, actor Nagarjuna, shared photos of the newlywed couple on X, expressing his happiness. In the images, Sobhita wore an elegant antique gold saree with real gold zari, while Chaitanya looked dashing in madhuparkham attire, a traditional white pancha with a bold red border. A new video of the couple, dressed in white and red, was also shared online.
Sobhita gets emotional as Chaitanya ties mangalsutra
In this video, Naga Chaitanya, wearing a white kurta and pancha, is seen tying the mangalasutra around Sobhita Dhulipala’s neck. The clip also features Nagarjuna, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Daggubati Suresh Babu. Akhil Akkineni, who had recently gotten engaged, was present as well and was seen whistling with excitement at his brother's wedding.
The video also captured Sobhita Dhulipala becoming emotional when Chaitanya placed the mangalasutra around her neck. For this moment, she wore a traditional white saree with a red border, pairing it with temple gold jewellery.
After the wedding, the Akkineni family released a statement, announcing, "The Akkineni family is delighted to announce the marriage of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala in a grand and traditional Telugu wedding held at the iconic Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, featuring an exquisite temple-themed setup."
The statement continued, "The wedding, held during the auspicious muhuratam of 8:13 PM, was a stunning display of Telugu traditions, with rituals performed under the guidance of elders."
Nagarjuna also shared his thoughts on the wedding, stating, "This wedding is a deeply meaningful moment for our family. Having Chay and Sobhita start their journey at Annapurna Studios, surrounded by the love of family and friends, fills my heart with immense pride and gratitude. It is a celebration of love, tradition, and togetherness that reflects the values my father stood for–family, respect, and unity. The wedding ceremony, which continued with rituals until 1 AM, was a vibrant and heartfelt showcase of Telugu wedding traditions.
