Sandeep Reddy Vanga was present at a recent episode of 'Indian Idol 15' to mark the first anniversary of his blockbuster film 'Animal'. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer gathered much controversy on its way to release, and even after it was appreciated and loved by the audience for a number of reasons including the music of it. Recently, as 'Indian Idol' contestants celebrated the music of the film during its 1-year anniversary, Vanga spoke about the possibility of making a film based on a mother-son relationship.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga on mother-son film
Vanga shared that if he ever plans to make a movie like this, it will be 'positive' and 'not dark'. "
“My family was very supportive, especially my mother, who helped with the fees for film school and the production of Arjun Reddy. I went to many producers with the idea, but nothing worked out, and then we decided to produce it ourselves," the filmmaker said during the episode.
While addressing the criticism that he does not give enough importance to the role of a mother in his films, Vanga said, "I’ve been criticized for not giving enough importance to the mother’s role in my films, but I’ve realized that in real life, I am much more attached to my mother. But since we don’t have any complaints in that relationship, there is no drama there or any angst that compels me to write about it. If I ever make a mother-son story, it will be very positive, nothing dark and only good vibes."
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for films like 'Kabir Singh' and 'Animal'. Both films have courted controversy for being misogynistic, and promoting alpha male mentality among other issues that did not ring down well with the audience and critics.
