Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Actor Churni Ganguly Says Nepotism Not Relevant In Alia Bhatt's Case

Churni Ganguly says Alia Bhatt is a talented performer and nepotism should not be a topic of debate for her.

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt has impressed audiences with a wide range of roles and standout performances. She is currently gearing up to feature in two blockbuster films, the romantic comedy ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’ and the Hollywood action film ‘Heart of Stone’, alongside Gal Gadot. The nepotism question often brings up her name since she is the daughter of director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Actress Churni Ganguly, who plays Alia's mother in Karan Johar's love story, recently discussed the same topic.

Actress Churni Ganguly, who has known for her roles in Bengali cinema, is excited about the release of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. The actress has spoken out to defend Alia Bhatt, who portrays her daughter Rani in the film. Churni has said that Alia is talented and that nepotism should not be a topic of debate for her.

In a new interview with News18, Churni said, “Alia is one of those performers who’s extremely talented.”

The actress settled the nepotism debate by saying, "People speak about nepotism. There's so much being said. I think nepotism only becomes relevant if the actor isn't up to the mark and lacks talent. But that's not the case with Alia.”

She added, "She has proved so film after film. She gets into the skin of her roles just like that. She brings life to a role that she plays. She did the same even in this film. We improvised a lot in some of our scenes and a lot of that came from Alia as well.”

Romantic comedy family drama, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is Karan Johar's return to the director’s chair. It's been seven years since Karan Johar directed a film. The film is set to hit the cinemas on July 28th.
