Robert De Niro’s Grandson Leandro Passes Away At 19, Actor’s Daughter Pens Emotional Note: Wish Love Alone Could Have Saved You

New Delhi: Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, Robert De Niro's grandson, has passed away. On Monday, the actor's daughter Drena De Niro shared a heartfelt post on Instagram in which she broke the news. Leandro was 19.
Leandro passed very suddenly, but the details of what happened are yet unknown. Drena, Leandro's mother, wrote a long note and shared a photo of her son on social media. "My beautiful sweet angel . I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly .You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life . I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you," she wrote in her caption.
"I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama. You were so deeply loved and appreciated; I wish love alone could have saved you. I’m so sorry my baby, I’m so sorry. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy," she added.

Leandro and his mother Drena co-starred in Bradley Cooper's 2018 film 'A Star Is Born'. Leandro also had supporting roles in movies including Cabaret Maxime (2018) and The Collection (2012). Robert De Niro has seven children, with Drena being the oldest. The actor's first wife, Dianne Abbott, is her mother.
Robert De Niro confirmed in May that his seventh child, a girl named Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, had just been born to his girlfriend Tiffany Chen.
