New Delhi: Actor Matthew Perry, who earned fame with the 1990s TV sitcom Friends for his portrayal of Chandler Bing, passed away at the age of 54. Law enforcement officials told US media that the actor was found dead at his Los Angeles home.


A lot of his fans are affected by the tragic demise of the 'Friends' star. Perry's colleagues in Hollywood are expressing their sorrow in droves. Hollywood stars Selma Blair, Yvette Nicole Brown, Paget Brewster, Mira Sorvino, and Warner Bros. Television Studios are among those mourning Matthew Perry.


Among the first 'Friends' cast members to express their grief over the actor's passing is Maggie Wheeler, the actor best known for playing Janice opposite Matthew Perry's Chandler Bing.


“What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared,” she wrote on Instagram.






Friends' production company, Warner Bros. TV, said in a statement, “We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.”












Paget Brewster, who played Kathy on Friends, wrote on Twitter, "I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry. He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after. Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there."




On his Instagram Stories, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh posted a photo of Matthew along with a nazar amulet emoji, folded hands, and a white bird. 



Samantha Ruth Prabhu also shared a picture of the actor and wrote, “Heartbroken. RIP Matthew Perry." 


Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote on Twitter, "Matthew Perry’s passing is shocking and saddening. I’ll never forget the schoolyard games we used to play, and I know people around the world are never going to forget the joy he brought them. Thanks for all the laughs, Matthew. You were loved – and you will be missed."
