New Delhi: Actor Rajpal Yadav rose to fame as a beloved comedic performer of his time despite experiencing personal tragedy. The actor spoke candidly about his life and his experience with losing his first wife at such a young age. The actor spoke out about his first wife, revealing that his father had arranged the marriage. But his first wife passed away while giving birth to their daughter. Rajpal's first wife, Karuna, passed away in 1991. At the time, he was a student at Delhi's National School of Drama.
Rajpal Yadav, speaking to The Lallantop, reflected on how, at age 20, he was emotionally unprepared to deal with the tragedy. Rajpal recalled: “Back in the day, if you were a 20-year-old man with a job, people would ask your family to get you married. So, my father got me married. My first wife, she just delivered a baby, a daughter, and died. I was supposed to meet her the next day but was then carrying her dead body on my shoulders. But thanks to my family, my mother, my sister-in-law, it never felt like my daughter didn’t have her mother, she grew up with a lot of love.”
The actor also discussed his marriage to Radha Yadav, his second wife, in the same interview. He shared, “I was 31 and then I met Radha. I had gone to shoot The Hero in 2001, where we met and remained in touch. We got married in 2003, after both families agreed to it.”
Rajpal further said that Radha helps him raise his older daughter and take care of his family.
Rajpal Yadav's next films are ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, starring Kartik Aaryan, and ‘Dream Girl 2’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana.
