Raashii Khanna recently spoke up about her pivotal career change, discussing how she went from wanting to be an IAS officer to being a successful actor. At ABP Network's Southern Rising Summit, Raashii shared her views on fate and life choices while admitting that she once wanted a secure job.
For the unversed, Raashii Khanna comes from Paschim Vihar in New Delhi and got into Lady Shri Ram College thanks to her remarkable 91% in her board exams. She admitted being a front-bencher and someone who always topped her school and university.
She resonated with the quote, "Fate leads the willing and drags the reluctant" and said that she accepts the unpredictability of life.
The actress shared, "I was willing to surrender to fate. That's exactly what I did because anything that I planned in life didn't happen the way I wanted it to. I wanted to be an IAS officer and that didn't happen. Actually, when you are growing up in a middle-class family, you always want a secure job. That's your cushion. You look for it. you look for security.”
She added, “It was my father's dream that I become an IAS officer and I was like why not? It's secure. I am very good at subject maybe I'll really flourish in this. But, god had a completely different plan and I ended up becoming an actor.”
The actress also said that her parents were her biggest supporters, stating, “They are the ones who said, 'jaa jee le apni zindagi.'”
Raashii Khanna on Acting as a Career
Raashii Khanna acknowledged the difficulties of becoming an actress. She said, “It has been very easy for me. But it's very difficult to be an actor. It's the most insecure job in the world because you don't know if you'll have another film. You have to keep sitting, waiting for months, for years sometimes for it happen to you. I've been just very blessed. I've taken opportunities as they have come.”
The actress concluded, "I love working. I've just been fortunate enough for all the industries to have given me the kind of films that I've done."
