Haniya Aslam death: Pakistani singer Haniya Aslam, celebrated for her unforgettable Coke Studio tracks like 'Laili Jaan,' 'Bibi Sanam,' 'Paimona,' and 'Chup,' has passed away. The news was confirmed by her cousin and long-time musical collaborator, Zeb Bangash, through an emotional post on social media. 


Bangash shared several photos of Haniya on Instagram, captioning them simply with "Hanini," and confirmed that Aslam passed away on Sunday. 




According to local media outlets, Aslam, who was in her late 30s, tragically died of a cardiac arrest. 


Fans and fellow artists have been expressing their grief and paying tribute to the singer online.  


Swananad Kirkire reacts to Haniya Aslam's death


Indian lyricist, playback singer and actor Swanand Kirkire took to Instagram stories and wrote, “This is not fair god… This sweet girl, my dear Haniya is no more. She suffered a cardiac arrest. Haniya and I had a special bond. She was a musician par excellence and the purest soul I have met. Rest in Peace.” 


He also shared a screenshot of his chat with her and wrote in the caption, “My dearest Haniya Aslam @citrushaniya is no more. She suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away peacefully last night. We shared a special bond when we collaborated on @dewarists 2. “ kaho kya khayal hai “ I'm sharing my last conversation with her, which took place just a few days ago. We have an unfinished album that we were working on together. @zebbangash, sending you and your family a big hug. May God give you the strength to cope with this loss. Haniya, we will see you on the other side. Until then, your sweet voice and melodious guitar riffs will continue to play in our ears, reminding us of the terrible loss of losing you. 💔” 




Indian musician Anirudh Varma shared his condolences, saying, "I'm so sorry to hear about this. May her soul rest in peace. Her music will be celebrated forever."  


The Indo-Pakistani duo Rup Magon and Qurram Hussain, known as "JoSH the Band," also mourned her loss, sharing a heartfelt message: "Today, our music fraternity lost an incredible artist and soul. You will never be forgotten Haniya. R.I.P."

Haniya Aslam, who had been a prominent figure in the Pakistani music scene for years, began her career in 2007 when she formed the band "Zeb-Haniya" with Bangash. Together, they created numerous hits that resonated deeply with audiences. In 2014, Aslam moved to Canada to pursue further studies but continued to be remembered for her musical contributions. 


In addition to her well-known Coke Studio performances, Aslam was also recognized for other memorable tracks like 'Tann Dolay,' 'Dosti,' 'Dil Pagla,' 'Ahaan,' and 'Seh Na Sakay.'
