New Delhi: Pakistani singer Ali Sethi, who is known for his song Pasoori, has become a talking point on the Internet after the rumours of his marriage to artist Salman Toor started doing the rounds on social media. The two reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York City. Salman Toor is a Pakistani-American artist.
According to India Today, Salman and Ali have been friends for a long time and they first met each other during an art class at Aitchison College.
In an interview with The New Yorker in 2022, Toor spoke about his journey of coming to terms with his sexual identity and had also spoken about the connection he shared with Ali Sethi.
"I knew I had found the person I wanted to be with for good,” he had said in the interview.
Though Ali and Salman have not officially confirmed or denied the rumours, if the news turn out to be true, it will be Pakistan’s first celebrity gay wedding.
Soon after the rumours circulated, Ali Sethi started trending on Twitter, with users spewing hatred and flooding the microblogging platform with homophobic comments. But there were a few who congratulated the rumoured couple on their reported marriage.
