New Delhi: 11 August is a busy day for movie goers. Sunny Doel, Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ released alongside Akshay Kumar Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer ‘OMG 2’. While both films continue to receive glowing reviews on social media, there is an interesting meta reference in ‘OMG 2’ about Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’.

In a scene in ‘OMG 2’, Akshay Kumar, who plays a messenger of Lord Shiva, is seen lounging under a tree drinking bhaang and singing ‘Udja Kale Kawan’.

In the same scene we see Pankaj Tripathi get some philosophical gyaan from Akshay Kumar’s character;.

Looks like Akshay singing ‘Udja Kale Kawan’ is a direct comment at the simultaneous release of both films.

Nevertheless, it is a delight to watch Akshay sing ‘Udja Kale Kawan’.

As both films clash at the box office, fans have differing opinions about both films. Some have called the Akshay Kumar film 'OMG 2' a 'blockbuster' while others have gone on to call it Akshay Kumar's perfect comeback film.

On the other hand, Sunny Deol's fans have called 'Gadar 2' a 'cinematic experience', a story about 'sacrifice and love' and called the film 'gripping'.

Many have even gone ahead to the extent of saying that 'Gadar 2' will only work well till Independence Day and 'OMG 2' is a long run successful film.

As per our in-house review of ‘OMG 2’, “While there is isn’t anything out of the ordinary about the film but the clever way of talking about sex education in schools, ‘OMG 2’ deserves full marks for the attempt to navigate such a topic with full earnestness, however sanitized by making it pleasing to the eye and ear to watch and hear.”

‘OMG 2’ stars Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. The film has been directed by Amit Rai. It is the sequel of the 2012 film ‘OMG-Oh My God!’ which starred Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar in the lead.
