Mahira is normalizing things that might look basic from a privileged background but I hope this gives hope to a woman rethinking marriage." Another wrote, "Awww congratulations to her. May Allah bless her with a beautiful married life with her husband."

Earlier, Mahira told Samina Peerzada that she was dating Salim. When Mahira was asked if she was in love in 2022, she grinned and nodded. "Yeah, I think I am in love. I don't know, I am so shy about it," Mahira had said. The actress had also confirmed that he was not from the industry.

In the Netflix series Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, Mahira will appear with Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed. Sikandar, a Harvard law student who has a life-altering encounter that forces him to keep others at a distance, and Liza, a gifted artist with a rough past, are the main characters of the novel.
