New Delhi: At the wedding ceremony for her younger son Anant Ambani, Nita Ambani arrived at the venue in style. Pictures taken at Mumbai's Jio World Centre show the Ambani family posing for the hundreds of photographers who had flocked to the venue for the so-called wedding of the century. What grabbed attention was Nita carrying a traditional Raman Divo lamp. The lamp displayed an image of Lord Ganesh.
The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, made an early arrival at the wedding location. With him was his wife, Nita Ambani, who was cradling a lamp-adorned golden statue of Lord Ganesh. The Raman Divo featured a sacred flame that is believed to chase away evil spirits and bestow good fortune on the newlyweds. The bridegroom's mother traditionally carries the Rama Divo at a Gujarati wedding.
Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s eldest son Akash Ambani, his wife Shloka Mehta, and their two kids, as well as their daughter Isha Ambani and her husband Anand Piramal, were all photographed during the wedding procession.
More about Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding
After a lengthy engagement and a slew of pre-wedding festivities, including a three-day celebration in Jamnagar and a Mediterranean cruise, Anant Ambani will soon tie the knot with Radhika Merchant. The ceremony is only a few hours away.
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is set to play a role in the wedding festivities. Earlier, Nita Ambani discussed her recent trip to Varanasi and how the sacred city's culture informed the wedding's design in a video posted to the NMACC YouTube page.
