New Delhi: Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has stepped into the spotlight once again, this time addressing the recent viral video involving Aditya Narayan. Narayan, a television host and singer, made headlines after footage of him grabbing and tossing a fan's phone during a concert in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, circulated widely on social media.

Taking to Twitter on February 14, 2024, Munawar Faruqui shared his thoughts on the incident, delivering a subtle jab at Aditya Narayan. Referencing the iconic song 'Papa Kehte Hain' from the film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', originally sung by Aditya's father, Udit Narayan, Faruqui tweeted, "Papa kehte hain, badnaam karega! Beta humare aise kaand karegaa #AdityaNarayan."

What was the incident?

The controversy unfolded during Aditya Narayan's concert, where he was seen performing the song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ from the movie ‘Don’. In the video, Narayan appeared visibly agitated with a fan, reportedly striking the fan with his microphone before flinging the fan's phone into the audience.

While some criticised Narayan's actions as 'arrogant', others came to his defence, suggesting it wasn't entirely his fault, as claimed by the event organisers.

Aditya Narayan's response to the controversy

"Honestly, no comments. I am answerable to the Almighty. That’s all," the singer said in an interview with Zoom three days after the viral incident took place.

According to the same publication, an event manager explained, “That boy was not even a college student, he must be someone from outside the college. He was constantly dragging Aditya's feet nonstop. He banged his phone on Aditya's feet multiple times. After that only did he lose his cool.”
