New Delhi: Mahesh Bhatt recently made an appearance on the reality series Bigg Boss OTT 2, and in addition to his energetic presence in the Bigg Boss house, he also brought along a treasure trove of memories from his life. Bhatt entered the Bigg Boss residence to meet Pooja Bhatt, his eldest daughter and a contestant in the reality series. The filmmaker spoke about his bond with Pooja while he was in the house, recalling how she supported him through his tough times.

Mahesh's memory of Pooja Bhatt's birth was the show's most heartwarming moment. At the young age of 20, the director-producer married Kiran Bhatt, and at the age of 23, he fathered Pooja. During the programme, Bhatt recalled how he struggled to come up with Rs 1500 at the time of Pooja's birth due to his numerous financial difficulties. He recalled that Pooja had an angry expression when he first saw her, and he thought that she had been created to make a difference in his life by being like a "godchild" to him.

Pooja Bhatt was the family's pillar of strength throughout his difficult time. He disclosed that Pooja took the initiative to seek a modelling profession and even attended multiple castings for commercials. Her career in the modelling industry was essential to managing their household amid challenging times.

Pooja made her acting debut in the 1989 movie 'Daddy', which Mahesh Bhatt himself directed, after working briefly in the modelling industry. In the movie, Pooja played a teenage girl who was estranged from her alcoholic father, essayed by Anupam Kher.

In a recent episode, Pooja, who is one of the contestants in the Bigg Boss OTT 2 house, was seen talking about her divorce from Manish Makhija and said that it was the lowest phase of her life. Pooja and Manish parted ways in 2014 after over a decade of marriage.

Pooja was seen talking to her co-housemate Jiya Shankar about her “lowest point”. She said: “The lowest point of my life was when I divorced my husband of 11 years and it was totally my decision. I couldn’t lie to myself as I didn’t feel like continuing it."
