New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor Khan recently shared a candid revelation about her role in Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's love story, stemming from her exit from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Kareena reflected on her decision to walk out of the project, paving the way for Deepika Padukone's involvement.
Acknowledging the romance between Deepika and Ranveer, Kareena Kapoor Khan humorously remarked that they are yet to express gratitude for her unintentional role in their love story.
Kareena talked about her belief in destiny saying, "I believe in destiny, and I believe that whatever is meant to be in your life will happen, through anything. All is written in the stars and everything is not written for everyone. Maybe Ranveer and Deepika were destined to be together."
This isn't the first instance where Kareena missed out on collaborating with Bhansali. She previously disclosed her disappointment when she was replaced by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Devdas’, despite initially being cast as Paro.
She told Filmfare in 2002, “He (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) screen-tested me for Devdas, gave me a signing amount, and then took someone else. That was wrong, it hurt especially because I was at the start of my career. It’s okay, because the day he dropped me, I signed Yaadein. Sanjay hurt me. Even if I have no work, I’ll never work with him.”
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan will star alongside Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in ‘Singham Again’. The Rohit Shetty-directed film also stars Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Arjun Kapoor and opens in theatre on August 15.
