New Delhi: Mohanlal and Shobana, a cherished duo in Malayalam cinema, are set to reunite on screen after a considerable hiatus. This marks their 56th film together, with filming set to commence soon. Shobana herself recently announced their collaboration in the tentatively titled film ‘L360’, directed by ‘Operation Java’ fame Tharun Moorthy. 


Shobana took to Instagram to share the exciting news with fans, expressing her enthusiasm for returning to Malayalam cinema. She remarked, "Good morning. It is a great day to announce that after a long time, I am going to do a Malayalam film. I am super excited. The director is Tharun Moorthy. Can you guess who is the hero? Yes, it is none other than Mohanlal.”


She went on to say that this would be a major milestone in Mohanlal's impressive career since it will be his 360th film. Shobana was enthusiastic and wished the film a warm reception from viewers.






She said, “It is Lalji's 360th film. Would like to wish him all the best. This is our 56th film together. So, I am super excited. Just hope everyone loves the film.”


Mollywood fans are ecstatic after their reunion news. One fan wrote, “Can’t wait to watch this amazing pair Mohanlal and Shobana on-screen once again. Thank you for making our childhood wonderful," while another one said, “Evergreen Pair Reuniting."

Having acted together in over 55 films spanning four decades, Mohanlal and Shobana are revered as one of Malayalam cinema's most beloved pairs. They have delivered memorable performances in iconic films such as ‘Thenmavin Kombath’, ‘Pavithram’, ‘Vellanakalude Naadu’ and ‘Manichithrathazhu’. 


Their last joint appearance was in Joshiy's ‘Mambazhakkalam’ (2004).
