New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar have a close bond, that goes beyond friendship. They refer to one another as brothers, and in a recent interview, KJo even admitted that despite working together, they don't have a "monetary contract."
In an interview with Mid-Day, Karan stated that he had witnessed and felt a part of SRK's development. The actor appeared in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Brahmastra for free, the speaker revealed afterwards. He spent 14 days shooting in Brahmastra. That is how we are related.
When the host assumed that the director had compensated by giving him pricey gifts, Karan grinned and said, "I give him clothes, he loves it."
The actor has never requested Karan for money, and Karan explained that there has never been a money exchange between them. "[He takes] whatever is provided. It's a pleasure to work with you, thank you, is what our contracts with Shah Rukh Khan say. We lack a comprehensive paperwork. When it's all said and done, it's about what we anticipate from one another."
The director revealed that KJo stepped in to direct a scene for Ra. One when the crew was working two shifts since SRK had phoned him. "In our relationship, it is of no great concern."
In the same interview, Karan Johar also shared an incident to highlight how close they are. When the event occurred, Karan was hiding in a hotel room after an underworld don threatened his life during the premiere of his movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
When asked about the terrifying episode in an interview with mid-day, Karan responded, "I'll never forget how Shah Rukh brought me out. I'll take the shot for you; all you have to do is stand here, he added. That's when I understood that we are in a lasting relationship."
Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together in a number of blockbusters including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan, among others.
