New Delhi: Actor Kangana Ranaut performed the Ravan Dahan at the national capital's famed Lav Kush Ramleela on the occasion of Dussehra on Tuesday. The 'Tejas' actor arrived on the stage, accompanied by Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena. The actress looked stunning in a red saree with a bun festooned with flowers. Unfortunately, the moment they had all been waiting for did not materialize. Despite multiple attempts, the Manikarnika actor was unable to fire the arrow, and the prop was burned in a mechanical manner.

In a video that has been circulating all over the internet, Kangana is seen holding a bow in her hands while people around her demonstrated how to shoot an arrow. The actress chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ while one of the members of the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee helped her shoot the arrow.

The video of Kangana after the event went viral. Many fans are commenting on the actress's video. One user wrote, “This gives me second-hand embarrassment”. Another commented, “So much for being the stunt/action queen of Bollywood”. The third one added, “So painful to watch”. The fourth shared, “I can’t imagine the kind of anxiety and embarrassment Kangana must be feeling at that time.”

Arjun Singh, president of Delhi’s Lav Kush Ramleela Committee, shared with PTI that Kangana was chosen as a nod to commemorate the Women's Reservation Bill that was recently passed. He added that for the first time in the 50-year history of the event, a woman will be performing the 'Ravan Dahan'.

“The Committee also wants equal rights for women. Women's participation is increasing in every walk of life today, but there is still a long way to go. To usher in equality, we need to do away with narrow-mindedness. Now that a woman can also set fire to the effigy of Ravan, she can end evil too. Women should be given this right too. And that's why we chose Kangana Ji for the same.” He further said

On the professional front, Kangana will be next seen in Tejas, which is set to hit the threaters on October 27th this year.
