New Delhi: Singer Joe Jonas and actor Sophie Turner have ended their marriage. However, a civil end to their marriage and the consensual agreement of their daughters' custody rights looks like a different ballgame together.
As per a Page Six report, Joe Jonas was spotted leaving his first mediation session two hours after estranged wife Sophie Turner. Meanwhile, Sophie Turner exited the building in casual wear at about 6 PM.
Earlier in the day, the mother of two was seen leaving Taylor Swift's Tribeca apartment-where she and her two daughters have been staying.
Although this is only day 1 of the estranged couple's four-day mediation, sourced told Page Six that Jonas is hoping that the week will end on better terms.
"Joe is committed to making it work with Sophie in mediation and doesn’t want to put up a fight — as long as they can come to a fair agreement on the kids,” the Page Six report quoted the source as saying.
Earlier this week, their lawyers met for a pretrial conference, where both parties agreed to set aside time this week to hash out their biggest issues, including their custody plans for daughters Willa, 3 and Delpihne, 1.
The couple's mediation sessions are expected to last four days, according to their attorneys, who said during a court hearing on Tuesday the goal is to establish a co-parenting plan for their two kids, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The war between the both began ever since Joe Jonas filed for divorce from the English actor last month.
Shortly after the singer filed the paperwork, Turner sued her estranged husband for her return to their children to England, something they had agreed to before the split.
As per Turner, Jonas was refusing to hand over the girls' passports so that she could take them back to their home country.
Now, it seems that Joe Jonas wants a '50-50' custody which would mean that their daughters would be spending more time in the US.
Now the trial has been set for January 2, 2024.
