New Delhi: Janhvi Kapoor—daughter of the late Sridevi—the iconic actress—shared some touching and illuminating stories about her family and childhood. For the unversed, Sridevi tragically died in Dubai in 2018 at the age of 54. The Kapoor daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, are carrying on their mother's work in Bollywood.
In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Janhvi Kapoor reminisced about her mother's traditional parenting style, which she found both funny and moving. She said that Sridevi didn't believe her girls required undergarments.
Janhvi corrected, "No, that mama did. That's taken care of from there. She was in denial that her girls were growing up for a very long time. She's just a kid. She doesn't need these things. So, yeah. I was like, I think I need it mom. Like, I really think I do."
Janhvi Kapoor On Father Boney Kapoor’s Support
In the same conversation, Janhvi also talked about how his father Boney Kapoor was a pillar of support in her mother's life. The actress spoke about her mom's struggle to keep going after giving birth.
Janhvi said, "She gave up her career when she had me. She didn't want to work on her own. Because she thought that 'I worked for so many years'. In fact, Papa was the one who was like, 'The kids have grown up now. And you get so much happiness from work. I will take care of them. I will stay with them during school. I will schedule a summer vacation. If you want to do this film, please do it. We will all come.' So he was very encouraging. It was never like, don't eat before I eat. It was never like, what have you worn? But mom was very conservative. And so Papa had to pretend to be."
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor is going to make an appearance in forthcoming films like ‘Devara: Part 1’ and ‘Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari’.
