New Delhi: Janhvi Kapoor is awaiting the release of her upcoming film 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' with Rajkummar Rao. Janhvi who has been on a promotional spree for the film recently sat down for an interaction where she spoke about her fame, family and personal growth amid movie recommendations and some recent films she has enjoyed. In a recent interview, Janhvi shed light on recent releases '12th Fail' and 'Laapataa Ladies' and what she thought about those films.
Janhvi Kapoor recommends films
In an interaction Ranveer Allahbadia, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about some iconic films like 'Pyaasa', 'Sophie's Choice', 'My Left Foot', 'Mughal-e-Azam', and how the stories of these actors, these pop culture icons had an impact on her.
Janhvi Kapoor on 12th Fail, Laapataa Ladies
Janhvi then spoke about 'Laapataa Ladies'. Speaking about her reaction to the film, she said, "My heart was just full. The kind of happiness I derive from, after I ahve watched a good film that's moved me internally, I think very few things come close to it."
When asked what she thought about '12th Fail', Janhvi said, "Because I am an actor, the first thing that comes to my mind is Vikrant's performance. But in terms of storyline, I think how it didn't follow any conventional rules of storytelling but still it had the clarity of following an arch, and a journey. And, it is established very early on that this is the motive of this character; this is why he wants it, and you immediately start rooting for him. And, then it follows that journey very beautifully, very honestly."
Adding that she would know nothin about the character Massey plays or the world he comes from but after the end of the film, Janhvi felt that she could step into that world and feel like ‘she knew everything’.
“The film allowed me to sympathise so genuinely on a human level to that specific experience he had, that it made me a more empathic person by the end of that viewing,” Janhvi added.
