New Delhi: Singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has received a death threat from gangster Goldy Brar, who is believed to be hiding in Canada. The singer, who reportedly got the treat through a voice note, has registered a complaint to Delhi Police’s special cell. The police have begun an investigation. The singer has also requested Delhi Police for security.
While addressing the media, the singer said that his whole family is scared by the threat as everyone fears death. He also said that he has only received love from people, and it was the first time he got a threat call. He also shared that he has sought protection from the police.
Goldy Brar is the main accused in the killing of famous singer Sidhu Moose Wala and is currently on the run. In May this year, the Canadian government named him among the country’s top 25 wanted criminals.
According to Interpol, Brar has been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and the supply of illegal firearms in India.
A Red Corner notice, which allows the arrest of a fugitive, has already been issued against Brar who belongs to Punjab’s Muktsar.
The 29-year-old reached Canada on a student visa in 2017.
Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in his SUV near his village Moosa in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. Goldy Brar had later admitted to the killing. Goldy Brar has been named in the 1,850-page police charge sheet filed in a Mansa court on August 26 last year. It said Moosewala's killing was carried out in retaliation for the youth Akali leader Middukhera's murder.
