New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra was most recently featured in the critically praised Amazon Prime Video series 'Citadel', which is a spy thriller. She recently began filming 'Heads of State', an action thriller. However, the strike of SAG-AFTRA actors has temporarily halted production. Now, Priyanka Chopra has come out in favour of the current SAG AFTRA strike. On Friday night, Priyanka took to Instagram to declare her support for her "union and colleagues."
It has been speculated that the strike might go on until the end of September. Actors are said to be planning a strike that will effectively halt all U.S. film and scripted television productions, with the exception of non-unionized, independently produced works.
Actress Priyanka Chopra has publicly declared her support for the Hollywood writers' strike, which has halted production throughout the nation. Chopra joins the ranks of industry workers fighting for equitable contracts with studios and streaming providers as actors join writers on the picket lines.
Priyanka took to Instagram and wrote, "I stand with my union and colleagues. In solidarity, we build a better tomorrow. #SagAftraStrong #SagAftraStrike."
Priyanka uploaded a photo of a banner that stated, "Sag.Aftra Strong."
While production in Hollywood has apparently stopped local language programmes developed in locations like Korea and India will continue to be supplied through streaming services like Netflix and Amazon's Prime Video.
The timing of the strike's end and the return to work by the actors is still unknown, but until then, production in Hollywood has come to a complete halt; this is the first time in 63 years that Hollywood has had a strike of this magnitude.
