New Delhi: Hema Malini's absence from grandson Karan Deol's wedding has made quite a news ever. The veteran performer, affectionately dubbed "Dream Girl," has been quite open about her life and career. Currently, she serves as a BJP member of parliament representing Mathura. In a recent interview, she remembered the terrifying day a filmmaker asked her to take off the pin holding her saree together so they could film a scene.

Hema Malini said to Lehren in an interview that a filmmaker had planned for the pallu of her saree to come loose.

The actor said that the director wanted to film something. Without mentioning the director's name, Hema Malini said “He wanted to shoot some kind of a scene. I always put a pin on my saree. I said, ‘Saree niche gir jayegi’ (the loose end will slide down). They said that’s what we want.”

In the same interview, the 74-year-old actress stated that Raj Kapoor originally offered her the main part in ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’. Starring Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, the film was a love drama that earned Zeenat Aman a nomination for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards.

Hema Malini was last seen in the romantic movie ‘Shimla Mirchi,’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh. The legendary actress has been active in politics, having represented the Mathura seat in Lok Sabha since 2014.

Recently, Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol tied the knot with Drisha Acharya. The absence of Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol from the wedding of Sunny Deol's son has caused quite a stir in the media.
