New Delhi: Shamita Shetty has made quite a reputation for herself in the entertainment industry. Since making her acting debut in YRF's 'Mohabbatein' in 2000, the career of the actor has taken several turns. Shamita is not just a talented actress, but also an accomplished interior designer. She gained more limelight after her appearance on 'Bigg Boss 15' and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 9’.

In a Godrej professional event in Delhi, the feisty and outspoken actress Shamita Shetty discussed the fans she made after her ‘Bigg Boss 15’ stint with the ABPLive team. She also spoke about maintaining a fitness regime, her hair colour experiment and more.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

What food do you love the most?

My favourite dish is probably chicken biryani.

Do you have any advice for someone who finds it hard to maintain a disciplined fitness routine?

Initially, when you are just about getting into the routine and when you're new to working out,  it is a little difficult in the beginning to continue with that routine.

But, you have to kind of stick to it at least for two weeks, however difficult it is. Because once that routine sets in, trust me, you're gonna miss your workout when you don't go to the gym. You just have to be patient with it. Results don't come quickly, it takes time.

You recently walked the ramp for a hair care brand, how do you feel to be a showstopper?

I'm somebody who really likes to experiment with colours in my hair. Currently, I am going all red and pink in my hair. When I have that little time and when I'm not shooting or working on a project, then I like to experiment with colour in my hair.

You are a very private person yet you participated in Bigg Boss. How was your experience?

I'm actually glad I made those decisions because the kind of love I received after Bigg Boss is not something I experienced before. It was a great way for me to show people who I really am. A lot of them related and connected with me. I think those fans that I've made are fans for life.

Are you watching the current season of Bigg Boss OTT? If yes, who is your favourite contestant?

Unfortunately, No. I am not following the show but I love Pooja Bhatt and I wish she does well and wins the show.

Any plans on working on OTT projects or are you waiting for the right script?

OTT is offering some really interesting subjects. They are really experimenting with their characters and their scripts. So, for an artist, it's exciting to be a part of these projects. I love doing more OTT. Hopefully, I will sign something.

For me, when I read a script - if it resonates with me, something that excites me, I'll just go ahead. I just go by my instincts.

You made your debut with YRF, one of the biggest banners, but things did not work in your favour. What went wrong?

I really don’t know and I wish I could answer this question. Having said that, I've been around for about 21-22 years, not many actors can really say that. So, I would like to look at the positive side of things. I'm glad and grateful that I'm still getting work.

I've never really made a conscious effort to do a particular thing to get certain reactions from people. Like, I said, I go with my instinct.

What kind of environment do you create in your life and personal space to stay positive?

It's not like I don't go through my low moments. At that particular time, when you're going through that - it's important to know that it's temporary and you have to pull yourself out of it.

I consciously surround myself with positive people and do things that make me happy. That's why, I take so long even for a project because I've always believed that it's not just about quantity but about quality.

Whatever you're doing in life, you have to be happy because you're taking out precious time from your life. It's just the effort that you have to make consciously in every area of your life.

Your idea of India in 2047 - 100 years of independence.

I can just visualise the world in which AI has just taken over every part of our lives. It's kind of scary.

The changes that I would pray for are to see a world with a lot more peace and harmony and people just getting along with lesser negativity and more positivity. That's what I hope for.
