New Delhi: Parineeti Chopra Chopra recently opened up about working with Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh and AR Rahman in 'Amar Singh Chamkila' in an interaction with Raj Shamani. Parineeti opened up about her experience of working with the three celebrities, her putting on weight for the film and more.

Parineeti, who played the role of Amar Singh Chamkila's partner Amarjot in the Netflix film, was appreciated by audiences and critics alike.

When asked about the standout quality of each of the people she worked with, Parineeti shed light on what was special about Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman and Diljit Dosanjh.

Parineeti Chopra on Imtiaz Ali

About Imtiaz Ali, she said that the filmmaker is an emotionally evolved person. A special quality of his is that he translates his deep understanding of human emotions to the extent you can see what's going on inside the mind of the character on screen.

"Imtiaz Sir is one of the most emotionally evolved people. Voh jis tareeke se insano ko samajhte hai, unki andar ki baarekian hai, unki jo soch hai, unke jo emotions hai, jis tareeke se voh unhe pakad pate hai, dekh pate hai, voh boht hi deep level pe hota hai, sab log nahi dekh pate. And, voh hi unki writing mein bhi hai, aur usi tarah se voh usko shoot bhi karte hai, isliye apko character ke dimag mein andar kya chal raha hai, voh dikhta hai. Voh sir mein boht amazing quality hai.( The way he understands people, their inner emotions, the depth he goes to also shows in his writing and in the way he shoots. In fact, that’s the reason why you can see the inner workings of a character’ psyche in the way he shoots. This is his most amazing quality).

Parineeti Chopra on AR Rahman

When asked about AR Rahman, Parineeti humbly shared that never in her life had she thought she would make her screen singing debut under the direction of a legend like AR Rahman.

Saying that AR Rahman does not know ‘he is AR Rahman’, Parineeti also lauded the Oscar-winning music composer’s humility.

Voh itne humble hai, itne simple hai, voh aise kam karte hai jaise unki pehli picture hai, voh itni mehnat karte hai. And, the best thing about him is ki unka jo Imtiaz sir ka, jo maine thoda se relationship dekha hai, aisa nahi hai ki koi formality hai ya aap na nahi bol sakte. Agar aap kuch work nahi kar raha hai voh itni open converation karte hai, itne humble hai sir, otherwise itne bade stars ke sath aap ko lagta hai kya main ye keh sati huin ke nahi but they are so humble because they say, ultimately we want the best work so everybody be honest with each other, please. thats an amazing learning,"( He is so humble and simple. He works like it is his first film and is super hardworking. The best thing about Rahman sir’ relationship with Imtiaz Ali is that there is no formalitty between the two. They have open conversations about what works and what does not for each of them because they want the best for the film. Its not like you cannot share your opinion in front of legends like them, ultimately they want the best work and thats why honesty is of prime importance).

Parineeti Chopra on her Amar Singh Chamkila co-star Diljit Dosanjh

Parineeti called Diljit Dosanjh, 'DD' and shared that she bonded the most with Dosanjh on spirituality because both of them are very 'spiritual'. "Hum log dono meditate karte hai boht, hum log dono yoga mein believe karte hai, hum dono boht hi spiritual hai. Main har roz shoot ke bad gurudwara jati thi just because I was in bliss when i was shooting for this film aur voh mujhe common laga Diljit mein." ( Both of us meditate alot, we also believe in yoga. Almost every day after shoot, I would go to the gurudwara because of the state of bliss I felt post shooting this movie).

Parineeti added that not just the spiritual side but also the way Diljit and she are in real life, off camera is another reason why they bonded so well. "Voh mujhe common laga boht diljit mein, hum dono camera ke samne boht energetic hai aur boht life hai hum mein, lekin real life mein hum kafi quiet hai, aur kafi hum log sochte hai sara din to voh boht similar tha hum dono mein."( I felt that both Diljit and I are so energetic on camera but in real life both of us are quiet, and think alot).'

When asked why Diljit Dosanjh had become such a rage, Parineeti said, “Why not? touchwood aisa change na ho, Diljit Dosanjh is a vibe. ab unko samjh aagya hai ki voh kaun hai aur audience kya chahti hai and ek bada amazing relationship ho gya hai audience ke sath.” (Diljit Dosanjh is a vibe. He has now understood who he and what his audience wants)
