Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to announce that they were expecting their first child.

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are expecting their first child together. Supposedly, Deepika is now in the second trimester of her pregnancy. The couple announced that the expected date of the baby's arrival is September 2024.

On Thursday, Deepika and Ranveer announced their pregnancy over social media.

A cute snapshot was posted by the couple, containing small hats, shoes, balloons, baby outfits, and safety pins. In the caption, they used an evil eye emoji and folded hands emoji.

Earlier, rumours started swirling that Deepika Padukone may be expecting a child. The rumours started when someone saw that she was wearing a shimmering saree on the red carpet at the 77th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), which supposedly covered her belly. A saree and stunning jewellery was created by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone met while working on movies together. They made films like 'Ram Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani', and 'Padmaavat'. After dating for about six years, they got married on November 14, 2018, in Italy with their close friends and family. 

On the work front, Ranveer Singh is currently working on two projects: 'Singham Again' and 'Don 3'. Meanwhile, there have been rumours that Deepika turned down an opportunity to star in the third season of the successful worldwide online series 'The White Lotus'. Her other obligations, such as her cameo in 'Singham Again' by Rohit Shetty and her role in the South film 'Kalki 2898', have also been completed.
