New Delhi: Television actress Dalljiet Kaur updated her fans on Thursday with a touching statement on the divorce processes she is now undergoing in Kenya with Nikhil Patel. The actress vented her frustration with the court proceedings on a social media post (now deleted), drawing attention to the mental and emotional toll the case has had on her.
The current status of Dalljiet's divorce lawsuit was the first topic she addressed in her message. She wrote, “Today was my court hearing in Kenya. For all those who want to know what’s going on, his lawyers are only proving one point to the judge—that there was no wedding.”
Additionally, she said that the Indian police had given her the assurance that Nikhil may be held responsible if he disputed the marriage, based on customs and witnesses.
“While lodging the FIR the Indian Police told me traditions with witnesses are enough to put him behind bars if he refuses marriage,” the actress said.
Dalljiet vented her anger by saying, “Let’s see what happens, but shame on him and his family to refuse there was a wedding. @WATUKENYA your top leaders attended a cultural event? Didn’t you all invite a wife to all the get-togethers at your place? Or was I a mistress being invited?”
She ended her note by saying that even if her ex-husband is good at word twisting, she would never give up her honesty.
She also said, "I am enough for myself and I am not scared of those who would rather hide in the closet than supporting me at this time."
Almost immediately after publishing, Dalljiet chose to remove her post from all social media platforms.
