Boney Kapoor Takes Dig At Arshad Warsi For His Claims Of Being Paid Less For Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja Song
After Arshad Warsi's comment on Prabhas in 'Kalki 2898 AD', his other statement regarding his payment for choreographing a song in the 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja is in the news.
Arshad Warsi's statements in a recent interview have grabbed a lot of attention. After his comment on Prabhas in 'Kalki 2898 AD', his other statement regarding his payment for choreographing a song in the 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja is in the news. Producer Boney Kapoor has addressed the claims made by the actor. In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Boney stated that Warsi “wasn't a star” at the time, questioning who would have compensated him with a substantial amount.
Boney Kapoor's reply to Arshad's claim
Arshad Warsi had previously shared in an interview that he had quoted ₹1 lakh for his choreography work but completed it in three days instead of the expected four. Boney remarked, “I read his statement, and I laughed. The shoot took place in 1992 and he is talking about it now. At that time, he was not a star. Who would have paid him such a huge amount?”
Boney explained that the film's direction was handled by Pankaj Parashar, who completed the shoot more quickly than anticipated. He noted that “We thought that it would take four days but Pankaj finished it in three days. I didn’t even remember this episode. He was paid ₹25,000 per day. Hence, he was paid ₹75,000 for three days.” Boney emphasized that there was no promise of a higher payment.
The producer also suggested that Warsi's recent comments might stem from a desire for media attention, stating, “Everybody wants media attention now and I am a soft target.”
Pankaj Parashar also clarifies
Pankaj Parashar corroborated Boney Kapoor’s account, indicating that he was the one who completed the song in three days. He pointed out that he was the director while Warsi was a newcomer choreographer. Pankaj asserted, “Arshad didn’t control the shoot, but I did.”

What Arshad Warsi had said
On the show 'Unfiltered by Samdish', Warsi reiterated that he felt underpaid, stating that he was given ₹75,000 instead of the ₹1 lakh they had discussed. He mentioned, “The production person asked me to finish the song sooner because shooting for four days would increase costs. I told him I’ll try my best, and we worked very hard to get the song done, but we finished in three days. I thought that the production would be happy. I went to get my cheque, and they gave me ₹75,000. I said, ‘I just saved you an entire day’s shoot, you should pay me more.’ He said, ‘No, for four days it’s ₹1 lakh, and for three days it’s ₹75,000.’”
