BLACKPINK's Jennie To Make MCU Debut? YG Entertainment Reacts To Rumours
Jennie will reportedly be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first-ever Asian superhero team.
New Delhi: BLACKPINK agency YG Entertainment has responded to claims that Jennie Kim had been offered a role in a Marvel venture. After making her acting debut with the HBO Original series 'The Idol', she will reportedly make her Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance.
According to rumours, Jennie will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first-ever Asian superhero team. She will portray the K-pop singer and superhero Luna Snow, also known as Seol Hee, who controls ice to defend people in the Pacific Rim and all around the world. In the 2020 video game Marvel Super War, f(x)'s Luna gave Luna Snow's voice.
Although it seems like a reasonable choice, her agency rejected the rumours. YG Entertainment issued a statement and said, "It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project.”
This comes right after Jennie's sensual 'The Idol' debut, which caused quite a bit of discord among her fans. While some BLINKs have praised the K-pop idol for her brave decision, others have criticised the artist for her provocative appearance. She appeared as Dyanne, a backup dancer and the friend of Lily-Rose Depp's character, in the series.
Blackpink's Born Pink World Tour is keeping Jennie very busy right now. Fans were concerned when Jennie left the event midway owing to her health at the group's most recent Melbourne performance. Later, her agency issued a formal apology on her behalf.
“Jenny showed her willingness to push ahead with the performance until the end but immediately took measures to ensure sufficient rest and stability with the recommendation of medical staff on the spot. Jenny felt sorry for not being able to stay with her fans until the end and expressed her intention to recover quickly. We will do our best to support Jenny to recover her condition as soon as possible. I ask for your understanding once again,” it read.
On the other hand, there was a lot of chatter about a possible romance between Jennie and BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung. A French journalist saw the couple holding hands while strolling around Paris.
