Avika Gor, who entered the entertainment industry as a child actor in the popular TV serial Balika Vadhu, shared a troubling account of sexual harassment by her bodyguard during an event in Kazakhstan.

Avika recalls sexual harassment by bodyguard

In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Avika recalled the incident and said she was making her way to the stage when she felt an inappropriate touch from behind. Turning around, she saw that it was her bodyguard. Shockingly, this was not an isolated incident; it was about to happen again when she grabbed his hand to stop him.

"I remember when I was going on stage, someone tried to touch me from behind. As soon as I turned back, I remembered that I had only seen the security guard and no one else. I remember that it was going to happen for the second time and I stopped it,” Avika recounted.

How Avika responded

Reflecting on the incident, Avika expressed her outrage and helplessness at the time. "It is shameful… I just looked at him and was like, 'What?' and he just apologised. So what do I do after that? So I just let it go. They don't know what effect his act is having on the other person," she added.

At the time, Avika felt unsure of how to respond, but she now feels more equipped to handle such situations. “If I had the courage to turn around and give it, then I would have hit a lot of people by now. Now I think I can do it, but I hope it doesn't come to that,” she said.
