New Delhi: Actor Ashish Vidyarthi garnered a lot of attention when he announced his second marriage at the age of 60. He married Rupali Barua in an intimate wedding in Kolkata in May 2023. Since then, the pair has been the target of online trolling because of their relationship. Ashish and Rupali spoke about internet trolls and the constant stream of hateful remarks in a recent interview with Behindwoods TV.

Ashish and Rupali were interviewed and asked how they dealt with the backlash they received after their wedding. Rupali said, “I did not give a damn to it because those people I don’t know. They have seen something that is very un-obvious, for normal people. Because they don’t know about it.”

She remarked that it's fine if some Internet users have such an opinion, and that they won't go out and provide clarification. She said, “It didn't affect me so much because I didn't read the comments so much. My close ones are supporting me, I don’t need any other validation.”

Talking about the same, Ashish Vidyarthi said, “Two things with love and affection - you don’t need to prove a point. We both were not out there to prove any point. No upset, no anger, but do something that makes you happy.”

Then Rupali spoke on how significant it is for the two of them to discover one other and begin a new life together. “Being given this opportunity by the universe is a big thing. Any other thing is small. I know what I have been missing. To find a companion at this age is a blessing. That blessing is so big that everything else, the negativity is blurred,” she said.

Over the course of his career, Ashish Vidyarthi has appeared in over 300 films. The talented actor has appeared in films in a wide variety of languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Odia, Marathi, and Bengali.

The actor was formerly married to Piloo Vidyarthi, the daughter of legendary actress Shakuntala Barua. They have a son together, Arth Vidyarthi.
