New Delhi: Celebrated singer Asah Bhosle spoke about the movie business recently and called herself the last Mughal of the industry. In a video shared by news agency, ANI, we see her talk about the olden days. In the video, Asha Bhosle can be heard saying, "Only I know the history of the film industry...There are so many stories that it will take me three-four days if I start talking about it. I have not forgotten anything. I am the last Mughal of this film line."


Asha Bhosle also recalled her fond memories of Lata Mangeshkar, referring to her as Lata didi. She even sang a snippet from her first song with Lata Mangeshkar 'Ye Kafila Pyaar Ka'. She called her relationship with Lata Mangeshkar as that of 'mother, elder sister and an artist.' She even shared that we never even sat with her in the house unless called to, saying that she was a revered figure even in the house.


Asha Bhosle further added that it was nearly impossible to copy Lata di.


Later in the same clip, we see Asha Bhosle talk about not liking titles such as 'legend' 'saraswati etc. She said she is human and that is foremost of all.


 






As the veteran approaches her 90th birthday, she will be performing in Dubai on September 8.


Asha Bosle is an Indian playback singer, entrepreneur, actor, TV personality. She is often referred to as one of the most influential and successful singers of Hindi cinema. Asha Bhosle has had a revered and illustrious career spanning 80 years, a legacy unmatched like that of her older sister Lata Mangeshkar.


Asha Bhosle has also sung in over 20 Indian and foreign languages. 


Asha Bhosle also has two Grammy nominations to her credit and has also been felicitated with India's highest award in the field of cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke Award.


The singer has herself shared that she has some 12,000 songs to her credit on several occasions, a figure repeated by many in the industry.
