New Delhi: Anurag Kashyap has been the face of indie-filmmaking in Bollywood. Besides writing and directing indie-flicks like 'Gangs of Wassepur' which went on to garner a cult following across the country, the filmmaker has been quite approachable for young filmmakers wanting to make a mark in the industry. However, recently, the filmmaker shared a long post on Instagram saying that he has wasted a lot of time on young people who have only made ‘mediocre content’.


Anurag Kashyap on not helping newcomers


He asked people to not look for shortcuts and work their way up. He also asked people to pay if they want to meet him the next time.


Taking to Instagram , Anurag Kashyap shared a note which was captioned, "And I mean it Don’t text or dm or call me. Pay and you will get time. I am not a charity and I am tired of people looking for shortcuts.”


Kashyap’s note read, “I wasted a lot of time trying to help newcomers and mostly ended up with mediocre shit. So, now onwards, I don't want to waste my time with meeting random people who think they're creative geniuses. So I will now have rates. If someone wants to meet me for 10-15 minutes I will charge 1 lac, for half hour 2 lacs and for 1 hour 5 lacs."


 






"That's the rate. I am tired of wasting time meeting people. If you really think you can afford it, call me or stay the fuck way. An all paid in advance."

Anurag Kashyap most recently directly 'Kennedy' which is yet to release in the Indian theatres. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2023. Anurag Kashyap was also seen in Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' in a small cameo.
