About Ajooba

Ajooba was produced and directed by Shashi Kapoor and co-directed by Soviet director Gennadi Vasilyev. Based on the Arabic folktale collection One Thousand and One Nights, it was a co-production between India and the Soviet Union at the time. It featured the acting talents of Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Shammi Kapoor, Dara Singh, Saeed Jaffrey, and Amrish Puri. Both critics and audiences rejected it during its first release in the Soviet Union in 1990 and again in India the following year (1991). When it was first released in the Soviet Union in 1990 and later in India in 1991, it was met with negative reviews and poor box office performance.

Amitabh's most recent film appearance was in ‘Ganapath’, which also starred Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.

Among Amitabh Bachchan’s many upcoming projects is an action movie starring Prabhas, amal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. He is currently filming an Indian game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
