New Delhi: A cryptic social media post by Aamir Khan Productions hinted at a potential reunion between Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. They were co-stars in Rajkumar Santoshi's critically acclaimed film 'Andaz Apna Apna' (1994). Aamir Khan has now dropped hints that the two may work again after 30 years.
The rumour mill began spinning when Aamir Khan's production company responded to a Salman Khan tweet from 2010 on X (Twitter). "I didn't let Aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh???," Salman said in the original 2010 post, making a playful allusion to the 2010 film ‘Peepli Live’, which was produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. Salman made this comment in regard to Peepli Live, which he praised the most upon its premiere and bestowed the title of "Mr. Midas touch" onto Aamir.
Reacting to Salman's tweet, Aamir Khan Productions said, "We think about this a lot."
Their followers were taken aback by the unexpected response from Aamir's team about Salman's old tweet. A lot of people on the internet are hoping that they will work together on ‘Andaz Apna Apna 2’.
Someone wrote, "Do dost phir se ek pyaale mein chai piyenge kya?" referring to a funny line from the 1994 film.
Fans responded to the post's with questions like "New tease about an upcoming film?" One user also wrote, "So you guys are coming up with something and you are good at marketing it. Let's know about it".
