New Delhi: TV actress Ekta Sharma has taken up a job at a call centre after she failed to find work despite many attempts in the entertainment industry. The actress' last show 'Bepanah Pyaar' wrapped up just before the lockdown. Ekta has been looking for work ever since. In an interaction with The Indian Express, Ekta shared her struggle of finding work. Ekta also opened up about being in the middle of a custody battle for her daughter.

"I am an educated woman and rather than sitting at home crying, I decided to go out and earn. I am doing a respectable job and I am proud of it. Initially, I sold off my jewelry, hoping that things would work out. But after a year, when it didn’t, I decided to go out and look out for work," Ekta told The Indian Express.

"I had to mentally prepare myself to go out and work in the real world. From living the luxury vanity life where you have a spot boy around you, diet food, and everything nice to now talking to angry customers on calls… it has been a paradigm shift for me...My only motive was that I wanted to live a life of a warrior, not a victim," she added. Ekta has found it very difficult to work a regular job having worked all her life, starting from modelling since she was in school, in the entertainment industry.

Ekta has appeared on numerous TV soaps. Some of them include 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kamini-Damini', 'Daddy Samjha Karo', 'Kkusum'. In the same interview, Ekta also shared that she did not receive any positive leads from her contacts in the TV industry despite contacting them for work opportunities.

Ekta Sharma has been working in the entertainment industry for 20 years but has been struggling to find work for the first time.
