Bappi Lahiri’s son, Bappa Lahiri, has returned from the USA along with his wife and daughter to perform his late father's last rites, which will take place at around 10 AM today, February 17. Bappa and his family was clicked at the Mumbai airport on the wee hours of Wednesday.
The legendary singer's funeral procession will begin at around 10am in the morning. The last rites will take place at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle. Bappi Lahiri's body would be carried in an open truck decorated with flowers, with a huge portrait of 'The Disco King'.
The late singer's family issued an official statement and informed that the final rights will take place on Thursday (February 17) mid morning.

Veteran music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has died at Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital on Tuesday night. He was 69.
"Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight," Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital, told PTI.
Bappi Lahiri popularised disco music in India in the 80s and 90s and has delivered hit numbers in several films of the late 1970s-80s like 'Chalte Chalte', 'Disco Dancer', and 'Sharaabi'.
Born in West Bengal, Lahiri first composed music for a Bengali film 'Daadu' and launched his Bollywood career with a film, 'Nanha Shikari'.
He shot to global fame with his chartbusting music for "Disco Dancer" and the song 'Jimmy, Jimmy, Aaja, Aaja...", and later the superhit music for "Zakhmee", "Lahu Ke Do Rang".
