The elderly couple‘s story of struggle due to the pandemic has gone viral on the internet, which has touched a large number of people who are now appealing Delhiites to visit ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ for a meal. The couple serves home-cooked meals like chapattis, rice, matar- paneer and a wide variety of Indian curries.
The couple in tears, shared their story of how the Covid-19 pandemic has made it difficult for them to earn their bread for the next day and how they get no support from their children. As the video went viral, several celebrities shared their video urging people to buy meals from their food stall known as Baba ka Dhaba.
Among those who have tweeted are actors Suniel Shetty, Raveen Tandon, Sonam Kapoor, cricketer R Ashwin, IPL team Delhi Capitals, Zomato and is still being widely shared.
The video was shot by blogger Gaurav Vasan, in which the elderly man Kanta Prasad said that he and his wife Badami Devi start work by 6:30 am. When asked how much do they earn, he broke down as he produced notes of rs 10 from a box. He had managed to earn Rs 50 in four hours.
As the video reaches Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somntha Bharti, the legislator said he visited the elderly couple and did the 'needful' to bring a smile on their face. He also said that he will take care of them and is starting a drive 2 take care of similarly placed people.
