New Delhi: Actor and host Arjun Bijlani is one of the most known faces of the television industry. He is one of the highest paid actors today but this was not always the case. There was a time when Arjun had to struggle hard to make it big in the industry.
In an interview to entertainment portal PinkVilla, Arjun recalled how he had to sell off his mother's gold jewellery in order to get his first potfolio shoot done, since he had no money. The actor recalled that he was only 19 when his father passed away. In order to repay his father's loans which he took to expand his business, Arjun along with his mother and younger brother, began looking after his father's business. But Arjun had other goals in life, he always wanted to make it big inn the acting industry.
The actor shared that he asked his mother for two years so he could give as many auditions as possible. He shared, "I started giving auditions and I was not getting any work. When I did my first portfolio, I didn't have any money so I sold my mother's gold to make my first portfolio."
Arjun revealed that it cost him around 8000 to get his first portfolio done.
He further shared that he got Rs 1000 for his first modelling assignment out of which Rs 250 went to co-ordinator. He added, “I remember my first cheque was for Rs 750 and took my mother for a meal because it was my first salary. I have tears in my eyes thinking about it."
Arjun Bijlani has been part of successful shows including Left Right Left, Miley Jab Hum Tum, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Naagin, Kavach, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Ishq Mein Marjawan, and others. Arjun was also seen in the entertainment-based show Smart Jodi, where he participated with his wife, Neha Swami. The actor is currently hosting Splitsvilla X4 with Sunny Leone.
