'Proud Daughter & Wife' Aishwarya Shares Pictures Of National Film Award Winners Rajnikanth And Dhanush

Basking in the glory of her father's and husband's success, Aishwarya R shared pictures with the two and wrote, "Proud daughter, proud wife."

New Delhi: Actors Rajnikanth and Dhanush were feted on Monday at the 67th National Film Awards which were announced earlier this year. South superstar Rajnikanth was conferred with India's highest film honour Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to the world of Indian cinema. While his son-in-law and actor-filmmaker Dhanush won the Best Actor Award for 'Asuran.' The superstars were accompanied by Rajnikanth's wife Latha and his elder daughter Aishwarya, who is married to Dhanush.

The sight of the two sharing the same stage was no less than a historic moment, both for Aishwarya and the superstars' fans. It was the first time when the two received the prestigious award at the same ceremony.

On Monday evening, Aishwarya shared pictures of the two happily posing with their prizes followed by a picture of herself with the two mega stars. She captioned the pictures, "They are mine … and this is history #prouddaughter #proudwife."

It was an equally proud moment for Dhanush who took to his Instagram handle to express his gratitude for the veteran superstar whom he calls his Thalaivar. Sharing a picture, Dhanush wrote, "To win a national award for best actor on the same stage where my Thalaivar was winning the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award was just indescribable." He also thanked the national award jury for bestowing him with such honour.

The 67th National Film Awards took place at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan on Monday, October 25. The awards were given by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
