Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally speech in Secunderabad was briefly cut short when a woman climbed a light tower to speak with him. The prime minister was heard repeatedly urging the woman to leave the tower because it was dangerous in a video shared by news agencies ANI and PTI.

"Please don't climb up the tower. The wire is faulty and could cause a short circuit. It is not the proper thing to do. Please descend from the tower. I am here to listen to you," Prime Minister Modi told the woman in Hindi.

During the rally, Prime Minister Modi attacked the previous governments in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, accusing them of betraying the Madiga community.

"People of the Madiga community and Krisha (Manda Krishna Madiga, an MRPS leader), I am not here to ask for anything; I am here to seek restitution for the actions of political leaders and political parties since independence who made promises to you and then abandoned you. I am a politician, so I apologise to you," Modi said.

"You (the people) have witnessed many governments in the country. Our government's top priority is to prioritise the underprivileged. The BJP's campaign slogan is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas," he added.

The prime minister also praised Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leader Manda Krishna Madiga, saying that the leader can regard him as a friend who will assist the Madiga community in their struggle.

"Krishna, you might have many friends who were with you to fight for the rights of the Magida community, but today, one more friend is added to your list," the Prime Minister went on to say. Click here for the full report on PM Modi's Secunderabad rally.

The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi, a Madiga community organisation, is one of the most powerful scheduled caste constituents in Telugu states.

Modi has been in close contact with Manda Krishna Madiga, whose organisation MRPS has been advocating for internal reservations within the Scheduled Caste (SC) category since 2013.
