Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Tuesday that law and order, electricity in villages, and social projects initiated by the previous administration in Rajasthan "vanished," and that "only a magician can do this," referring to the chief minister's history, news agency PTI reported. Speaking at a campaign event in Rajasthan's Kuchaman ahead of the November 25 assembly elections, Shah claimed the state's Congress administration is the "most corrupt" and has passed "all limits of appeasement," and he urged people to depose it.
He blamed the state administration for the death of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal, several communal events, illegal mining, and recruitment exam paper leaks.
"Kanhaiya Lal Teli was beheaded and murdered... Under their (Congress) rule there have been riots every now and then... Many youth like Kanhaiya Lal was murdered because of Ashok Gehlot's policy of appeasement," Shah stated.
Referring to Chief Minister Gehlot's earlier involvement with magic, Shah stated that he has vanquished law and order, rural electricity, and projects initiated by the previous BJP administration led by Vasundhara Raje.
"Only a magician can do this," he was quoted by PTI in its report. Gehlot was born in Jodhpur into a family of skilled magicians and temporarily accompanied his father on his trips.
Shah further stated: "Rajasthan is at the top in crime against women. Everyday, 22 cases of crime against women are registered. And it doesnt affect Ashok Gehlot at all. PM Modi gavce 33% reservation and gave respect to 'Matri Shakti'."
Gehlot becomes enraged when he sees the colour red, Shah claimed, referring to a "red diary" that, according to sacked minister Rajendra Gudha, has information of the chief minister's unlawful financial dealings.
He blamed the Congress of postponing the Ram temple development in Ayodhya for 70 years. "Lord Shri Ram was in a state of humiliation for more than 550 years. The Congress was stalling the construction of Ram temple for 70 years, but (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi performed its bhoomi pujan," he said.
Prime Minister Modi would also attend the temple's dedication on January 22, he added, urging people to book tickets to Ayodhya for that day.
He claims that the Congress leaders who used to criticise the BJP have suddenly gone mute.
Shah further said that the Congress is unable of keeping the country secure or bringing glory, but Prime Minister Modi has succeeded in flying the national flag to the moon.
India became the fourth country to deploy a spacecraft onto the lunar surface earlier this year.
Referring to many communal events, including the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, the BJP spokesperson stated that the Gehlot administration sought to restrict Ram Navmi and Mahaveer Jayanti processions, but allowed the PFI to have a rally in Kota.
According to him, it was the Modi administration that outlawed the Popular Front of India (PFI) and imprisoned its members.
Slamming the state government over illegal mining, he said: "Illegal mining increased to such a level that a sant committed suicide by burning himself, yet Gehlot did not open his eyes."
He promised the people of the state that tap water will be available to all houses within two and a half years of the BJP forming the state government.
Shah further stated that the former UPA government donated Rs 2 lakh crore to Rajasthan from 2004 to 2014, however the Modi administration granted Rs 8.71 lakh crore from 2014 to 2023 and completed projects worth Rs 6 lakh crore in nine years.
