Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent event honouring digital content creators ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, playfully teased the Opposition while presenting the first-ever National Creators Award in 20 diverse categories. The event took place on Friday at Bharat Mandapam in the National Capital.
Malhar Kalambe, awarded in the 'Swachhta Ambassador' category, expressed his readiness to contribute to the 'safai abhiyan,' prompting PM Modi to predict a clean sweep in the upcoming polls. "In this election too, there is going to be a clean sweep," remarked the PM, drawing applause from the audience.

During the ceremony, PM Modi engaged in a light-hearted moment with Kalambe, advising him to eat properly, noting his thin appearance. The National Creators Award, presented in categories such as storytelling, social change advocacy, environmental sustainability, education, and gaming, aims to recognise excellence and impact while serving as a launchpad for creativity-driven positive change.
Addressing the gathering at the event, PM said, "You are the people who have created a place for yourselves and this is why you are at the Bharat Mandapam. This is the place where the G20 was organised and discussion for creating the future of the world was done."
"Today, you all have gathered here to discuss how to create the future of India...When the times change, when a new era begins, it becomes any country's responsibility to adapt to the same. Today, at Bharat Mandapam, India is fulfilling that very responsibility," he added.
"Today, those who have been conferred with the National Creators Award, I congratulate them...Around 1.5 to 2 lakh creative minds are attached to this National Creators Award program. It is a great coincidence that the first-ever National Creators Award is being organised on Mahashivratri," PM Modi said.
He further said, "Today is International Women's Day, but for the first time I am seeing men present here are also clapping. I congratulate all the daughters who have been conferred with an award today. I am very proud of all of you. I extend my best wishes to the women of the country and the world. Today I have reduced the price of gas cylinders by Rs 100".
With over 1.5 lakh nominations and approximately 10 lakh votes cast in 20 categories, 23 winners emerged, including three international creators. The diverse categories encompassed awards like Best Storyteller, Disruptor of the Year, Celebrity Creator of the Year, Green Champion Award, and more.
The event celebrated creators across various fields, with awards like Swachhta Ambassador, New India Champion, Tech Creator, Heritage Fashion Icon, and Best Health and Fitness Creator, among others. Through this initiative, the government seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in creativity and impact across different domains.
