PM Modi Varanasi nomination: A day after a massive roadshow in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday filed his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi, who has won from the seat in the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, has filed nomination from Varanasi, yet again to re-claim his stronghold for the third consecutive time in Lok Sabha polls 2024.  


While filing his nomination, PM Modi said: "Main Damodar Das Modi iss Lok Sabha election mei...ishwar ki shapath leta hu sachi nishtha se pratigya karta hu...ki main vidhi dwara sthapit bharat ke sammvidhan prati sachi shraddha aur nishtha se aur mai bharat ki akhandta akhun (intact) rakhunga."





 


 


PM Modi filed for the nomination after seeking the blessings at the Kaal Bhairav Temple in the city. Ahead of filing nomination papers, PM Modi also shared a 'Varanasi Report Card' on his X account, where he wrote: "My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable and incomparable… all I can say is that it cannot be expressed in words!"


The list of PM Modi's proposers includes Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri, Baijnath Patel, Lalchand Kushwaha, and Sanjay Sonakar. Shastri belongs to the Brahmin community and is the one who decided the auspicious time for the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Patel belongs to the OBC community and has been a dedicated Sangh worker. Kushwaha and Sonakar belong to the OBC and Dalit community.


Several chief ministers of various states including UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, among other CMs will also be present during the PM's nomination filing in Varanasi today.


Here is PM Modi's detailed itinerary for the nomination filing today:



  • At 7:55 AM, the Prime Minister proceeded from Bareka to Assi Ghat or Dashashwamedh Ghat. From there, he proceeded to the Namo Ghat by cruise after offering prayers.

  • Thereafter, at 9:55 AM, PM Modi will hold a mini-roadshow to Kashi Kotwali from Namo Ghat to reach Kaal Bhairav Temple at 10:15 AM.

  • After offering prayers at the Kaal Bhairav temple, he will proceed to the Collectorate via Mandakini Chowk, Lahurabir Chowk, and Nadesar Chowk.

  • As per the schedule, PM Modi will file his nomination at the Collectorate at 11:40 AM sharp. Click here to know why PM Modi chose this time.

  • Following his nomination filing, PM Modi will meet party workers at the Rudraksha Convention Center at 12:25 PM.


Know Who Attended PM Modi's Nomination Filing


During PM Modi's nomination filing in Varanasi today, several chief ministers from 12 states, along with union ministers, MPs, and MLAs, will also be present, in addition to leaders of the NDA coalition.


Those in attendence include Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP's NDA partners Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Omprakash Rajbhar, Apna Dal (S) president Anupriya Patel, and the LJP chief Chirag Paswan.


The Chief Ministers who are expected to attend PM's nomination filing include, Yogi Adityanath(Uttar Pradesh), Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), Bhajan Lal Sharma (Rajasthan), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Vishnu Dev Sai (Chhattisgarh), Hemant Biswa Sharma (Assam), Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Pramod Sawant (Goa), Manik Saha (Tripura), Eknath Shinde (Maharashtra), and Prem Singh Tamang (Sikkim).


The leaders of the NDA coalition who will be present at the nomination filing are ministers from the central government and leaders of the NDA coalition, including Jayant Chaudhary and Jitan Ram Manjhi. 


After the meeting with BJP workers, PM Modi will hold a rally in Jharkhand and Bihar, beginning with a rally in Jharlhand's Koderma district at 3:30 PM.
