Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Tuesday file his nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, in a bid to secure a third consecutive term from this Uttar Pradesh seat, which the PM wrested in 2014. On the eve of filing the nomination, PM Modi held a massive raodshow in Varanasi on Monday evening. Voting in Varanasi will be held on June 1 in the seventh and last phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Ahead of filing the nomination, PM Modi posted a video on his X account highlighting the work done in Varanasi over the last 10 years by his government.


The video was captioned: "My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable and incomparable… all I can say is that it cannot be expressed in words!"


In the video, PM Modi can be heard saying that in the past ten years he has developed a bond with Kashi which is similar to that of a mother and son. 





Several Union ministers, chief ministers of BJP and NDA-ruled states, and leaders of the saffron party are likely to accompany PM Modi to the collectorate during his nomination filing.


PM Modi Nomination Filing: Varanasi Itinerary


According to a BJP statement, the prime minister will file his nomination papers after offering prayers at the Kaal Bhairav temple. The PM may also offer prayers at the Dashashwamedh Ghat located on the banks of the Ganga around 9 AM.


Ahead of filing the nomination papers, PM Modi is also expected to take a cruise trip to the Namo Ghat in the city as per his schedule. Subsequenly, PM Modi will hold a meeting with BJP workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre.









Since PM Modi's nomination filing coincides with the Ganga Saptami today, he is also likely to take a dip in the Ganga river. 


CMs, Union Ministers To Attend PM Modi's Nomination Filing In Varanasi


Amongst those who will be present at PM Modi's nomination filing include Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Besides them, the BJP's NDA partners Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, Apna Dal (S) president Anupriya Patel, LJP chief Chirag Paswan, and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Omprakash Rajbhar are also expected to be present. 


In addition to the UP CM, several other chief ministers including Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Nitish Kumar (Bihar), Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), Eknath Shinde (Maharashtra),Vishnu Deo Sai (Chhattisgarh), Bhajan Lal Sharma (Rajasthan), Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Pramod Sawant (Goa), Himanta Biswa Sharma (Assam), Manik Saha (Tripura), and Prem Singh Tamang (Sikkim) are also likely to attend PM Modi's nomination filing.

PM Modi Nomination Filing: Vistara Advises Flyers To Reach Airport Early


Since heavy traffic congestion and slow vehicle movement are expected en route to Varanasi airport today in view of PM Modi's nomination filing, Vistara Airlines has advised its customers to prepare accordingly. 


In a post, Vistara said, "Heavy traffic congestion and slow vehicle movement are expected en route to Varanasi Airport on May 14th. Customers are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport."
