Mizoram Election Results: The counting of voters is underway in Mizoram and the numbers are not what Chief Minister Zoramthanaga would have imagined for his party and himself as well. As of now, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) has won two seats and is leading on 24 while the ruling Mizo Nationa Fron (MNF) is ahead only on 10 seats. On the other hand, CM Zoramthanaga is trailing from his Aizawl East-I seat and ZPM's Lalthansanga is leading by 2,101 votes.

Surprisingly, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) seems to be outperforming the Congress as it leads on three seats while the grand old party has managed to take the lead on one seat only.

ZPM candidate from Aizawl West-II, Lalnghinglova Hmar has won the seat. He beat MNF's Lalruatkima by 4,819 votes. Whereas ZPM's W Chhuanawma has won from the Tuichang seat defeating the rival candidate from MNF by 909 votes.

A Look Back At Mizoram Exit Polls

According to ABP-CVoter exit poll, CM Zoramthanga-led Mizo National Front (MNF) may fall short of a majority but still emerge as the largest party in Mizoram. The state is expected to witness a three-way battle between the MNF, the main opposition Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), and the Congress, even though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in the fray.

As per the exit polls,  MNF is likely to get anywhere between 15 to 21 seats. Regional party ZNP is predicted to get 12 to 18 seats, while the Congress is projected to get 2 to 8 seats. BJP may get anywhere between 0-5 seats.
