Maharashtra Election Results 2024: The counting of votes for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, which was held three days ago on November 20 in a single phase, is currently underway. With this exercise, the results for all the 288 Assembly segments, where the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition's Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance were pitted against each other in a fierce electoral battle, will be revealed.

Maharashtra saw a voter turnout of 66.05 percent, which was an increase from the voter participation in 2019 Assembly polls. This year, a total of 4,136 candidates are contesting elections, which is also more than the 3,239 candidates in 2019 Assembly elections.

The BJP contested 148 constituencies while CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's NCP contested 80 and 53 seats respectively. In the MVA, Congress contested the most number of seats at 103, followed by Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, which fielded 89 candidates in 89, and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP), which contested 87.

The figures are hinting at a massive victory for the ruling Mahayuti, while the MVA is trailing behind. As of now, the trends show that the Mahayuti is leading with 230 seats, while the MVA is trailing far behind on 53 seats.
